Molson Challenge Cup Weekend Action - June 7 & 8 - 2014

Rookie, Kyle Williams, leads 
Holy Cross to victory

Holy Cross picked up two weekend victories and it was Kyle Williams leading the way. Williams scored two goals on Saturday as Holy Cross defeated Mount Pearl 3 -1. Jake Warren scored Cross's other goal. While it was veteran Justin Pickford denting the twine for Mount Pearl. On Sunday, Williams again was on the score-sheet , along with team-mates Jake Warren, Jon Hawco and Mike Brushett as Holy Cross defeated St. Lawrence 4 -2.  Scoring for the Laurentians were, Ryan Sheppard and Jordan Caines.

Feildians pick up two huge wins 


The combination of Tyler Forsey up front and David Hickey in goal proved just to much for the Feildians opposition this past weekend. Forsey scored his first two goals of the season on Saturday as the Feildians blanked  the Laurentians 2-0 . Hickey recorded the shut-out. 
On Sunday, in Mount Pearl, it was again the Forsey and Hickey combo leading the Feilians to a 1-0 victory. Forsey scored at the 1 minute mark and from there it was Hickey blanking the opposition for the remainder of the show.

Holy Cross back on top of the standings

Holy Cross now stand on top of the standings with 14 points, followed by Mount Pearl with 10 points . Feildians are 3rd with 7 points and alone in the cellar are the St. Lawrence Laurentians with 2 points.
