NL Canada Games Male Soccer - 7th

Roul leads NL to a 7th place finish

The Newfoundland and Labrador Canada Games men's team defeated British Columbia 3-2 it their 5th and final match of the tournament. It was a two goal effort from Boyd Roul, from Lawn, and one goal from Sean Edwards that led the foot ball players from "the rock" to victory.
NL played five games in total, in PEI
NL opened the tournament against NB playing them to a scoreless draw. In game two NL defeated Saskatchewan in a very hard fought contest by a 5-3 score. Next, it was the teams from two of our Atlantic Provinces defeating the NL. representatives. Nova Scotia, took away any chance of NL competing for a medal, they defeated NL by a 1-0 score, scoring a late goal at the 90th minute mark. Then in game four, PEI defeated NL by a 3-1 score. NL finished the five game tournament with a very respectable showing with:2 wins, 2 loses and one tie, good for a 7th place finish.
